The Sisters in Crime: Central New Jersey group announces:
Take part in “A Conversation with an Author, an Editor and an Agent” during the Jan. 26 meeting of Sisters in Crime Central Jersey, at the Jamesburg Senior Center, 139 Stevens Ave., Jamesburg. The free program will begin at 11 a.m., and all are welcome.
New York Times Bestselling author Wendy Corsi Staub will appear along with Lucia Macro, vice president and executive editor at HarperCollins, and Laura Blake Peterson, agent and vice president of Curtis Brown Ltd. Rather than give a formal presentation, the three will have a conversation about the various aspects of working together and take questions from the audience.
Staub said, “We are a longtime trio. Laura has been my agent for more than 90 books over 27 years! Lucia and I met in 1986 when I moved to New York City to get into publishing. We worked together as editors at Harlequin/Silhouette, and she’s been editing my suspense novels since I moved my career to Harper over a decade ago. Both Laura and Lucia live in New Jersey, so this is hometown territory for them.”
Staub is best known for psychological suspense books written under her own name; she also writes women’s fiction under the pseudonym Wendy Markham. Her latest, “Little Girl Lost,” begins her fifth suspense trilogy for HarperCollins. Previously she wrote the Mundy’s Landing trilogy and the Lily Dale traditional mystery series. Her novel “Hello, It’s Me” became a Hallmark TV movie starring Kellie Martin. Staub has won the Rita Award from Romance Writers of America, a Romantic Times Award for Career Achievement in Suspense, a RWA-NYC award for Lifetime Achievement, and five prizes for fiction from the Westchester Library Association. Her website is WendyCorsiStaub.com.
Starting time for this program is approximate following the group’s 10:30 a.m. business meeting.
Admission is free and all are welcome
